HP+D provided the City of Peoria with the design and construction documentation of a network of hiking and biking trails in the flood impoundment area behind New River Dam for Paloma Community Park Trails. Existing trails received supplemental mile markers and directional signage while new trails were completed with primary and secondary trailhead signs, directional signs, mile markers, trash receptacles, benches, and trail counters as a form of placemaking. The trails were constructed with ADA and equestrian access standards. Trail improvement that disrupt native areas included plans for mitigation through dispersion of native dry seed mixes and the dispersion of cactus fruit from surrounding native areas to improve re-vegetation.
