The City of El Mirage’s update to Gentry park incorporates elements from three original concepts provided by HP+D to create a final concept - “Fun-Tastic” that proposes a complete redesign of facilities on 8 acres. Some of the main features in the final concept for this master plan are the “urban forest” theme playground, butterfly garden, meditation maze, and a coffee yard and game zone located outside of the youth center. Multiple sports courts were also integrated into the parks final design. The vine archway entry monument and pavilion/performance stage are key features that contribute to the placemaking of this park making Gentry Park a monumental recreational site in El Mirage.
